Classic Cranberry Sauce

a big bowl of classic cranberry sauce

Makes 3 cups

1 pound frozen or fresh cranberries
½ cup white sugar
½ cup Sweetie Magic
½ teaspoon Kosher salt
½ cup orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 long strips lemon peel
2 long strips orange peel

How To Prepare

Add all ingredients to a pot and place over high heat. Bring to a boil, then lower to a simmer and cook for a few minutes until the cranberries are soft. Using a potato masher or wooden spoon, break up the cranberries until no whole ones remain. Continue to cook until thick and has a jam like consistency, lowering the heat if necessary. Remove and discard lemon and orange peels before serving.

Serve hot, room temperature, or cold.
